I had no idea I had missed listening to my old goth metal mp3s that much. I guess Sins of Thy Beloved aged well, and the string solos are still pretty awesome. It does help that my soundbox is loads better than it used to be back when I listened to it all the time... the growly parts are actually intelligible!
Amusingly enough I've always assumed the solos were violin, but I now realize I have no confirmation it's the case. :x
I still think some selections from SoTB and early Theatre of Tragedy would make a pretty darn sweet soundtrack for Violinist of Hameln. XDD

I woke up at roughly 11am and have been doing nothing but watching The Final Countdown video clips on youtube.
I wonder if something epic will happen today...

I remember I used to love this song, even if it was far back enough that I had no clue what they were saying. (I used to think it was "I have no doubt" and not "I get knocked down"! How's that for crazy?)

My internet is amazingly fast O_o my sister said she'd buy this extra-fast internet for us that came with a free cell-phone and two cell-phone chips. Well, the cell-phone arrived today, and is now mine! MUAHAHAHAH! (How she intends to pay for it? Dunno.)
It's not any amazingly great cellphone or anything like that, but it's poliphonic, plays the radio and has a liquid crystal color screen thingy, all of these things my old one emphatically didn't have. It had been given to my sister in 2003/4, when she broke up with her first boyfriend and he tried to guilt-trip her into going back to him by giving it to her as a present. She was later given a better one, and I ended up inheriting the old one.
I didn't associate the newly arrived cellphone with the internet at first, till I started downloading some abney park songs and they were complete in less than a minute, even though they were like 5/6MB big XDDD damn.

Today at the university it was really damn cold. As in "Damn, I should have put on two pairs of pants" cold. First time this happened in I've no clue how long.
I like this weather.
In completely unrelated news, Nightwish has a new lead singer. The name Helsingborg shouldn't amuse me this much, as the fact that she misspelled "Paulo Coelho" XDD though I concur that "Veronika decides to die" is a great book. LotR is still better, though...
*is on the lookout for the new song* I wonder how she sounds like...
ETA: 15ºC, or 59ºF. Coldest day in the year so far, and it's still may! Maybe we'll reach lower than 10ºC this year :D
......
...and it's already snowing in the south. Rio sucks.

I remember watching this clip when I was around 9~14 years old (definitely waiting for either Saint Seiya or Yu Yu Hakushou to air). It impressed me a lot; how you just... sort of think the worst of the situations at first. I found the song later, thanks to the now defunct WinMX, but was never sure if it was the one in that cool clip I had seen 18362513 years before.
Why didn't I think of searching Youtube before... silly me. XD;

I had a really cool dream *_* probably inspired by going to sleep with Das Böse stuck in my head.
It was a dirty, flattened square in a run-down city, sort of 1800's, neo-gothic in style. Apparently there was some kind of disease going around (my brain probably fished at geostigma for it, only it oozed real pus) and everybody was in hysterics. An enormous crowd was gathered in frond of a very tall, wide wooden stage, and there was some sort of magician on it. He looked in his 60's, hair a light grey and balding on the top. He had a very luxurious suit and a wide, completely black cape, and looked sort of wicked. He held a small goblet on his hand that seemed to be made of old carved silver, rather darkened by time.
He beckoned to his assistant, who was in a long, sleeveless red dress, and she walked up and offered her arm, that had the disease. He offered the goblet, that she picked with her other hand, and held her hand on the afflicted arm as if he were going to kiss it; instead, he dipped a long nail in the goblet as if fishing for something, and when he brought it out it had fire. He threw the fire on the disease on her arm, and for a while they just watched as a patch of her arm shriveled and burned, both him and her looking very coldly at it. The old man blew the fire off; then he lifted her arm for the crowd to see and, instead of the disease, there was a wide, but not very serious-looking burn mark. The crowd cheered like crazy, and the old man lifted his arms as if to bask on it, then bowed. Meanwhile the assistant was walking to the side of the stage, as if to walk down, but then she stopped, looked slowly back to him and then violently threw the goblet on his face.
He fell back from the force of it, and the goblet bounced up, revolving slowly through the air. A bunch of other assistants and servants of the old man jumped up to grab her, while she jumped out to reach the goblet. And while everybody tried to tackle her, they sort of metamorphosed into some really creepy anthropomorphic animals. The old man was pissed; somehow I knew he was the devil/a envoy from the devil and that the goblet had something that could do him in or undo his work.
The woman fell to the ground on her side, but managed to salvage the goblet. Except, as she did, she noticed both her legs and one of her hands were turning into those of a zebra. She froze for just a moment, then scrambled to her feet.
Then the alarm clock rang and my sister started shuffling around. Daw.

So I bought the new Shaman cd today. I was feeling so blessed.
Yet just now that I finally took it out to listen, I noticed the inside part that held the cd was broken. Those little pin thingamabobs that hold the cd in place, you know. I'm a real ass when it comes to my stuff, I like them to look like new - so I was rather annoyed, and had half a mind to take it back to the store and demand a new, prettified one.
Still, after thinking a little more about it, I came to the conclusion it was probably my fault. I stuck the cd in my binder case because I was in a hurry, and assumed that having it covered by the store bag would keep the case from getting scratched. But my binder case didn't only have binder sheets, but two japanese books, VoH tankoubon 12, One Piece issue 38 (which would be the latter half of tankoubon 19 - Mr. Prince rocks my socks), my pencil case, my wallet and my cell phone. So, uh, it was probably a bit smashed up between two things.
So I just grabbed my eRa 2 cd, since it was the only one I had in hand that had a transparent inner case and old enough I wouldn't froth much if it had broken pins (unless someone else had broken them. I'm such a hypocrite). Since the inner case was a bit scratched up, I was torn for a moment, but then just exchanged it with Nightwish's inner case, and used nightwish's to replace shaman's. And then put shaman's broken one inside eRa's case. Thus the problem was solved, and now I can listen to their new cd feeling at peace with myself.
I'm anal. I know.

My music classes timetable sucks. It sucks so much that on wednesdays I have two classes: one class at 12pm and the following at 5pm.
So - today I went to music school and had my 12pm~1pm class, discussed melodic metal and its relationship to satanism and witchcraft for one hour with some school mates (I found the topic absolutely ridiculous, but I had NOTHING else to do >.>;;), then sat on a bench and stared at nothing till 5pm...
...to discover the timetable is SO fucked that not even teachers and the coordination people knew who was teaching what and where. Then they told me my class would be in another classrom, and that the teacher "went over there to do something", and so I went back to staring at nothing till 6pm - when the class would be finished - and by then I had already decided the school could just go to hell.
And that's not all - while walking down the school stairs, I met my sister halfway. She should be in class but ended up having the same problem I had. We talked a bit and she told me she stumbled upon her ex-boyfriend (the same person who lent me some Naruto cds) yesterday, and he said a "weird" hello and went away... and later on phoned her, going about how he really really needed to talk to her, and asked her to meet him today. Munique was a bit too surprised to say no, but today she decided she didn't want to hear him beg and so phoned him saying she wasn't feeling well. Also, he implied that he had been folowing her, and seemed to know the places my sister had been hanging out as of late. She seemed kinda creeped by that, but fortunately she's not letting it get to her - he still doesn't know her house's phone number, nor the exact place where her apartment is located. And me that thought he should be over her by now.
And something she told me, almost laughing - he had told her, sometime after they broke up, that he was dating a 35 years old woman, but yesterday he confessed it was a lie >.>;;; Munique seemed to find that amusing, but I think it was more pathetic than anything. He's really falling low if he's got to the point of telling stupid lies and then stalking her.
The world is full of creepy people.
